Online Auctions like Ebay

You can search Ebay for a refurbished laptop and you’ll often find a good selection on there. Be careful though and make sure you read all the information very carefully before you bid. It’s easy to get carried away on Ebay and you might spot an excellent item for a great price that is about to close, quickly placing a bid and winning the item. However what you didn’t read was somewhere down the page the seller stating that the laptop was faulty in one way or another. You must always read the whole page on Ebay, don’t rely on the Title to tell you.

Online Classified Pages like Gumtree

Again a good site for a selection of laptops but often these will be used rather than refurbished. The difference being that someone is simply selling you there old laptop rather than a refurbished one that has been fully repaired prior to selling

Big Online companies like Amazon

This is a great place to find a refurbished laptop. On Amazon, like Ebay, anyone can list their own products for sale. So track down a laptop on Ebay you would like (e.g. a brand new one) and then check the links to “New and used for $x” on the site. You will often find listings here from people selling refurbished hardware and as its sold through Amazon you get a lot more protection that simply buying from someone you don’t know.

Small online companies like your local computer store

Do a search on google for “refurbished laptop Manhattan” if you live in Manhatten, otherwise replace with your town or city. Often this will take show you shops in your area that will sell them, however don’t expect them to be quite as cheap as some of the deals on the net. The advantage is though you will be able to pick it up rather than waiting for delivery and also, you have someone to take it back to if you have any issues.

As you can see, there are lots of options, you just need to get your investigation head on and start looking. Don’t forget to compare any deals against what you could buy new.
